Three Clubs play from the centre – Avenue Badminton Club (Hull), Hull Badminton Club and Hull & East Riding Badminton Club. The three clubs in total run about 40 teams for adults and juniors in the local and Yorkshire Leagues.
AVENUE BADMINTON CLUB.
A long established and successful club who compete at all levels of the local leagues, men’s, ladies and mixed, with a number of teams. It also competes in the Yorkshire County Leagues. The club caters for social badminton on both it’s club nights and inexperienced players are very welcome and the club has a number of qualified coaches. A light meter system is used which members may use during off peak times.
The adult section of the club plays throughout the year on Tuesday nights between 7 pm and 1.030 pm, between September and April between 7 pm and 10.30 pm
The club also has a junior section for boys and girls between ages 7 and 18 years, make and female coaches are accredited with Badminton England and individual coaching programmes are available. With junior competitions, tournaments and leagues available the section has strong links with the adult club. Taster sessions are available by arrangement for schools and youth groups either at the club or by visit.
The junior section plays on Tuesdays throughout the year with the summer times between April and September being 5.30 pm and 7.30 pm and during winter months, September and April being 5.30 pm and 7 pm, on Fridays between 5.30 pm and 7 pm, all year round.
The club also provides a MK section which provides the perfect opportunity for players of a reasonable standard to play badminton and is suitable for players of all ages. Inexperienced players who wish to improve are very welcome and a number of qualified coaches are available. The section has a full social programme with quiz nights, discos, dinner dances and much more.
The section plays on Fridays between 7 pm and 10.30 pm, Sundays between 7 pm and 9 pm and Mondays between 10 am and 11.30 am
