Three Clubs play from the centre – Avenue Badminton Club (Hull), Hull Badminton Club and Hull & East Riding Badminton Club. The three clubs in total run about 40 teams for adults and juniors in the local and Yorkshire Leagues.
HULL BADMINTON CLUB
Founded in 1912, the club enjoys the distinction of being the oldest, purely badminton club in England. Hull Badminton Centre is a competitive, but friendly badminton club that welcomes players young and old, of all ages.
The club is one of many in the area affiliated to the Hull and District Badminton League in which we have several mixed, men’s and ladies teams ranging from the top divisions down. It is a Badminton England Premier Club and Sport England Clubmark accredited.
The senior section plays and Monday’s and Thursday between 7.00 pm and 10.30 pm and offers a friendly reception from all existing members and caters for both club nights and social play badminton. Its teams are places in the local leagues for ladies, men’s and mixed doubles and has a Badminton England approved equity policy. Every standard of player is catered for and the club has an active social calender is available. Visitors are always welcome for taster sessions.
The junior section plays on Thursday between 5.30 pm and 7 pm and has Badminton England qualified coaches who provide a friendly welcome and fun play as well as providing skills training and preparation for matches. The section is open to all children of any age or ability.
