Three Clubs play from the centre – Avenue Badminton Club (Hull), Hull Badminton Club and Hull & East Riding Badminton Club. The three clubs in total run about 40 teams for adults and juniors in the local and Yorkshire Leagues.
EAST RIDING BC
A large, long established and successful club, we compete at all levels of the local leagues, ladies, men’s and mixed with a number of teams, so we can accommodate most players wishing to play competitively. The club also competes in the Yorkshire County League.
Social badminton is played on both club nights and inexperienced players who wish to improve are very welcome and the club has a number of qualified coaches. Members can also use the light meter system to play at off peak times.
The club’s Junior section is accredited with Badminton England and is a large club catering for boys and girls between 7 to 18 years, it has male and female qualified coaches who can provide individual coaching programmes. The Junior section can compete in competition play, tournaments and leagues and the club has strong links with its adult club. Taster sessions can be provided by arrangement for schools or youth groups at either the club or by visit. Rackets can be provided at a minimum cost.
The adult club plays all year round on a Wednesday between 7.00 pm and 10.30 pm and at the same times on Saturday between September and April. The junior club plays throughout the year in two sessions between 3 pm and 6.30 pm.
The East Riding is a Badminton England Premier Club and Sport England Clubmark accredited.
